Desi Culture Club (DCC) is a Registered Student Organization (RSO) that was founded in spring 2023 by graduate Aravinda Murali. After his graduation, the club officers decided to step down from running the organization because the responsibilities without a president were a lot to take on. With a new president to organize the club, DCC is ready to make a comeback.

Known for its bright and colorful events, the organization allowed for students to get to know the cultures of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan. DCC was the first RSO to represent South Asian culture on campus.
“DCC was founded in February 2023 to spread the culture and traditions of South Asian countries,” shared Aravinda. He described events like Diwali and Holi to be the major events of each semester, which bring calm, joyful, and spiritual themes.
“Bringing DCC back is important because it highlights the diversity at UAFS,” the new president Khurera Iqbal explains. “DCC has done incredible work in the past, showcasing Indian culture both on and off campus. I want to continue that tradition while also representing the diverse cultures within the South Asian community.”
Recruiting a new team to bring the organization back on its platform with the help of previous officers, Khurera is ready to lead the organization back on campus.
