Five Fun Activities in Fort Smith to Mix-Up the Holiday Break

Going into this cold December, many of my fellow lions are going to be wanting to shake off the stress and sweat for what has been, for many of us, a hectic finals week! As we inch closer and closer to our winter break, I wanted to take the opportunity to make a list of fun activities and other things to do in the Fort Smith area over break.

In no particular order these hopefully will give you, my wary reader, a better idea of how to relax over this holiday season. Have a happy holiday, and remember to wrap your gift with the receipt! (I’m sorry you didn’t like the coat last year, grandma)

Number 1: Fort Smith Christmas Parade

On December 9, join the rest of Fort Smith in celebrating the 2023 annual Christmas Parade! The parade is also FREE, and will take place at 3 PM on Garrison Avenue, 72901. Hosted by The Calyton House, Fort Smith Museum of History.

Number 2: Creekmore Park Light Show & Holiday Express

Starting with the classic, these two FREE events take place 5:30-8:30 PM at Creekmore park. Take a walk through the park and enjoy the Christmas light display, or take your family on the Holiday express train around the park! Holiday Express runs Monday-Saturday through Dec 23, lights on display until Jan 6.

Groups of 4 and under are $20 per person, but groups of 5 and over are only $17.50 per, so group up! Fort Smith Escape Room is by appointment only and open all week, operating hours vary.
