Last week marked the halfway point for the 2025 spring semester. Midterms are finished and spring break is just two weeks away. UAFS offers many resources for student success.

The Writing Center is open Monday through Friday and online Sunday, located at 5004 Kinkead Ave, Fort Smith, AR. It offers a comfortable environment to work in. Many student tutors work to offer collaborative learning. Students can schedule appointments online. The tutors can provide feedback and help to edit your work. Director Doctor Mary Lutze works alongside her dog, Nori, to help students achieve success.

Lead tutor, Avery Powell, says, “The Writing Center is great for everything, whether you need help with your papers or just need a place to sit and study."

The Academic Success Center(ASC) is open Monday through Friday, located in the Vines building. Director Andrea Burton works alongside assistant director Chastadee Bailey to assist student learning. Academic coaches Amber Robinett and Derek Hill help students improve their academic skills. The ASC tutors in a range of subjects. Operations and Testing Coordinator Allyson Lovell proctors tests. Stop by for snacks or schedule an appointment online.

When in doubt, sweat it out at the Recreation and Wellness Center(RAWC), located at 525 N 51st St, Fort Smith, AR. Need a study break? The gym is open every day. Go rock climbing, join an intramural sports team, or dance away writer’s block in Zumba class.

UAFS junior Tobey Sayaxamphou says, “I joined the intramural volleyball team and met lots of new friends .”
