“Peace with Puppies” at UAFS

This Monday, May 1st, The University of Arkansas– Fort Smith invited puppies and kittens onto campus to help relieve finals week stress.

As the Spring semester comes to a close, university students are facing the peak of pressure as final exams near, but the Baha’i Club at UAFS are doing their part to keep students afloat during the intensity of finals by organizing the “Peace with Puppies” event.

The Artemis Project, an animal shelter in Fort Smith, made this event possible by bringing in adoptable animals for students to enjoy on the campus green. The Baha’i Club hopes that the event is not only a good way to keep UAFS students smiling, but also gives the animals at the shelter plenty of love and interaction.

UAFS student, Micah Buckles, says that this event not only brightened her week, but has inspired her to add a member to her animal family at home.

Monday’s sunny afternoon provided the perfect atmosphere for students to enjoy the animals on the spring green lawn. The “Peace with Puppies” event left students in a joyful glow on the Monday before finals, setting the university on a successful path for finals week.
