Grads get decked out for graduation

Updated: Jan 11, 2022

Now that the semester has wined down for the year and students are finishing up their last finals of the season. The fall class of 2021 graduates are getting ready to walk across the stage at the Stubblefield Arena decked out in graduate finery. With friends and family from all over coming to see them walk, some of them will be wearing cords and stoles to represent their respective organizations.

Some of these cords take up to 2 years to achieve if they were just a regular member in clubs during their time at UAFS. Other club requirements may vary

depending on their resolution of conduct for the student organization. The cords that we can notice are Cub Camp cords, a single cord of green and light blue. For others it could even be a medal for their achievement in academics like Academic Excellence Award, which is a gold medallion inscribed with the seal of the University.

With the most uplifting words these Graduates have proved their worth to be able to wear these commencement stoles and cords. There will be two commencement ceremonies held at the Stubblefield Arena at 10 am and 2 pm on December 18th. Come watch this fall graduating class graduate in their decked out hats too.

Here is the Fall 2021 Commencement Program that has every graduating student from the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith. The program has a list of every student organization that has a cord, stole, and its colors.
