Seniors have to Move out within 24hrs of their Graduations

Updated: Jan 11, 2022

On December 18th, 2021 the fall graduating class of 2021 will be graduating at the Stubblefield Center. There will be two ceremonies held at 10 am and the other at 2 pm in their respective colleges. While most students are finished with their finals and preparing to go home for winter break. The students who live on campus and are graduating have to move out within 24 hours after graduation.

This is not enough time for the students who have been stressed out with finals and to graduate right after. From an outside perspective they would agree that University Housing should give these undergraduates more time to get their bearings together, since they have been under stress from finals and walking commencement.

It does not help the students who have moved across the country to move their stuff within 24 hours. It makes sense that students can slowly move in their things in the beginning of the semester but to move out in 24 hours is a little much. Though they can try to pack up their belongings before moving and scheduling time to move their things it could be an easier transition.

Not only is it a stressful time, there is no guideline in how to handle the stress of finals, graduation, and moving out around the same time. Undergraduates are just expected to figure it out on their own on how to navigate all of it during Finals. Hopefully in the future someone would take notice of this and give these Undergraduate students more time.

Shown below is a bullet list from the UAFS website for students who plan to move out to follow.

Here is the link for more information on moving out.
