The UAFS Theatre Department welcomes its second show of the season, A Doll’s House Part 2, written by Lucas Hnath. Performances will be November 16-18 at 7 pm and November 18 at 3 pm in the Breedlove Auditorium.

The prequel follows Henrik Ibsen’s feminist classic, A Doll’s House. A Doll’s House Part 2 follows the Helmer family fifteen years later after Nora walked out on her family to pursue a different life. Nora, who has become a popular writer, decides to finally return home with a certain favor in mind.

In doing so, the audience witnesses the effects of Nora leaving her old life, and facing the repercussions. Nora’s husband, Torvald, is determined to make her like difficult in obtaining this favor she desires.

Director, Sally Story, says, “I think it’s a humorous and inventive take on Henrik Ibsen’s A Doll’s House… much like after A Doll’s House ends, the audience sees that Nora’s decision is not black and white. The audience will empathize with the family more in this play and see how they were affected by Nora’s leaving." Story adds, “Since it is less than 90 minutes without an intermission, the audience will be taken on a whirlwind of emotions."
