It’s that time of the year again where friends and families are gathering together to celebrate the holidays. The holidays are not necessarily easy for everybody. We all have so many important people in our lives we want to give back to, but it’s hard to afford to get a gift for every single person we love. That’s where white elephant parties come into play.

At a white elephant party, each person attending brings one gift. Then a game is played to help determine which gift you receive. Players draw numbers to see who goes first. The person who draws #1 chooses a gift and unwraps it for everyone to see. Then the next player gets to choose from opening a wrapped gift or stealing one that’s already been opened. The game continues until all players have had a turn and all gifts are unwrapped. Then each player gets one more turn to decide if they want to keep their gift or steal someone else's. After the game is complete, each person should end up with a present.

This game is perfect for holiday parties because everyone gets to play a fun game together and you save money by only buying one gift. After a stressful year, it’ll be no surprise if you get invited to several white elephant parties.
