Fort Smith Police Department reports spike in B&E calls, mostly unlocked vehicles.
Fort Smith has seen an outbreak of breaking and entering incidents, 51 such instances since September 20th. Targets are mostly unlocked vehicles. In a release sent via email, the Fort Smith Police Department (FSPD) warned residents of a spike in breaking and entering calls. They believe that many of the incidents are related and stress the importance of locking your car anytime you are away. FSPD is currently pursuing leads and has asked for help identifying suspects. Multiple Sebastian Commons apartments broken into, suspect arrested
Article updated on 4/6 Three Sebastian Commons apartments had their windows broken by a non-resident late Monday night. With help from the Fort Smith Police Department, University Police apprehended the suspect shortly after. UAFS Responds to Vista Closure
Vista College, a trade school in Fort Smith, unexpectedly closed their doors on Friday, October 8, 2021. According to several sources, students were aware that Vista would be closing in the near future, but not until the students that were currently enrolled finished their programs. The closing was a shock and a disappointment to all of Vista’s students. When Vista closed their doors, 354 students were enrolled with an additional 69 students enrolled in their online programs.
